Hello, I’m Dr. Cassandra Fynes with Fynes Audiology. I want to talk to you about your patient experience, what’s going to happen when you come to Fynes Audiology to learn about what hearing aid is appropriate for you. When you arrive at your appointment, we’re going to ask you to fill out a little bit of paper work. We want know about you. We want to know about where you’re having difficulties, where we can help you to hear better. We want to make sure that we understand as much about you as you understand about us. After you’ve filled out your paper work, we’re going to ask you to see one of the audiologist who’ll do a hearing test on you. This will help us to see that how much hearing loss, what severity of hearing loss and how much word understanding difficulty you’re having. Then after the hearing loss is done, we’ll go over it with you. We’ll explain what you need to know to understand your hearing loss better. We’re also going to ask you some more questions. We want to get in real detail where you’re having difficulties. Are you having difficulties hearing your boss, are you having difficulties hearing you spouse or your grandkids. We want to know so that we know what’s appropriate for you. When you return to be fit with your hearing aids about a week to two weeks later, we’re going to spend some time with you to make sure that you are hearing the way you need to, that the hearing aids sound natural and that everything sounds comfortable. We don’t them too loud we don’t want them too soft. We want them to just sound that you’re hearing better. Then we’ll sit down with you and make sure you can put them in okay, make sure you can take them out, make sure you understand how to clean them to keep them working. We’ll also make sure that you can change your batteries so that the hearing aids are functioning the way you need them to be. Well how do you come in for a follow up appointment. About one and a half to two weeks later so we can check in with you. Are you hearing the way you need to? Did you hear better at dinner with your spouse? Were you able to hear your grandkid say I love you? We want to know how are you doing. So we want you to come in give us feedback. Is it too loud, is it too sharp, we want to know how are you doing. That doesn’t end it. We’re going to have follow up with you throughout the year. For the next couple of years as you wear your hearing aids. We’re going to have you come back on routine basis so we can clean your hearing aids, check in on them, make sure they’re doing what they are suppose to. Once a year, we want to do a new hearing test on you. We want to see has your hearing changed. We want to make sure that we’re here to help you hear the best that you can at Fyne’s audiology.
